  1. Police Scotland Report
The full police report was emailed to all members prior to the meeting.

Youth disorder in the area appears to be getting worse. There have been violent outbursts at the Crow Road retail park, sometimes with knives being pulled out.

There was a road traffic fatality on South Street. There is an increased police presence there.

House break-ins are down, but there is evidence that attempted break-ins through doors being tried are increasing.

Police Scotland recommend that communal entries be made secure, and if there are problems getting a factor to comply with owners’ requests to address this then Police Scotland are happy to engage with the factor.

There has been an initiative to tackle use of e-bikes which have been illegally modified. Also to tackle e-bikes going through red lights.
  2. Approve previous meeting’s minutes
Proposed by Jamie, seconded by Madeline. Minutes approved.

  3. Matters Arising
Public liability insurance – Still waiting to hear if we are covered by GCC but there was a general agreement that if we are not covered by GCC then the Treasurer can go ahead and take out a public liability insurance on behalf of TCC, for which a quote has already been received. Motion to do so forwarded by Colin and seconded by Nic.

Shipyard pile driving – Conclusion is that the estimated timescale for the work was greatly underestimated and communication from the companies involved has been poor.

  4. Green Space Initiative
Shaun is not present to report but a public consultation survey has been completed and is ready to launch.

  5. Area Partnership
Ailie is not present to report on this. Jamie agreed to email Ailie to request a brief written update.

  6. Review of Social Media
The new TCC website is now live.
We agreed that we do not have a need for a Twitter / X account for now. There was discussion about perhaps having a monthly or quarterly newsletter to be sent out by email. Stevie said he’d look into managing an email subscribers list.

  7. Community Matters
    Love Thornwood Activities
Some bulbs have been supplied to Sandy Road for planting.
TCC wishes to thank Love Thornwood for recent bulb planting in the area.
TCC also wishes to thank Love Thornwood for a recent litter pick.

    Bin Hubs
Jamie submitted some questions to all three city councillors but GCC has not responded to these yet.

    Gulley Cleaning
There was a discussion about the recent gulley cleaning and it was considered to have been largely unsuccessful.

  8. Treasurer’s Report
    No expenditure this month.

Funds are £1950.38 with liabilities at £70 for church hall rental.

Still to complete process of adding Geraldine as third bank signatory.
  9. Elected Representatives
Cllr Dalton provided an update and there was a general discussion about the pile driving at the shipyard

Cllr Jassemi provided an update with mention of street lighting issues, cars speeding in the area and trying to get progress on the plans for Thornwood Roundabout.
  10. Any Other Business
    None
