Background
Primer Glasgow is seeking to deliver an exemplar high-quality low-carbon student development on this current brownfield site, which boasts excellent transport links, including to nearby Glasgow University.
The company building out a previous permission for development, granted in 2016, went into administration following commencement of works in 2018, and the site has lain derelict and in poor condition since.
With a rapidly increasing student population, Glasgow is facing a recognised critical shortage of student accommodation, which is contributing to the city’s housing emergency, with students occupying homes that could be freed up for families.
Have your say
The new development, if approved, will be managed 24/7 and as such will be an excellent neighbour, providing a significant contribution to the local economy.
A first public consultation event outlining our proposals will be held as advertised overleaf.
Consultation boards outlining the proposed development will be available to view, and there will be the opportunity to provide feedback, with the project team available to answer any questions you might have. A project website can be viewed at www.meadowroaddev.co.uk, and this will host the consultation boards from Tuesday 21st January 2025.
You may make comments on the proposals at the public event, via the project website using the feedback form, or by email and post as outlined below. Comments should be received no later than Tuesday 4th February 2025.
A second event will take place in February, providing updated details on the proposals. It should be noted that comments made at this stage do not constitute representations to Glasgow City Council. A further opportunity to make representations to the Council will be available following formal submission of the planning application.

‘managed 24/7 and as such will be an excellent neighbour!’
If you believe that load of old cods???
They DO NOT make great neighbours
They ARE NOT ‘managed’ you’ll be lucky if you have a tel number to call? Most of the time Police are!!
They don’t know how to behave but DO know how to leave rubbish strewn everywhere and damage the property they reside in!
Good luck to the neighbours!
I can’t attend the public meeting but as I won’t be affected by this situation I will keep my BP in check
